family conflict and child protection

Conflicts relating to parental responsibility or the right of access do not stop at the borders of Germany and neither do situations of risk to the welfare of children. In many cases when couples split up, one of the spouses moves to another country, resulting in geographical distance between them. In other cases, parents try to avoid child protection measures by leaving the country. The geographical distance makes it more difficult to resolve conflicts and situations of risk.

Therefore, it is sometimes not easy for professionals of the relevant agencies to keep track of the multitude of laws, international conventions and cultural particularities.

This is where ISS German Branch can help: by offering counselling and intervention in individual cases.
