Fields of activity

In the course of the 80 years of its existence, the following areas have turned out to be the focal points of activity of ISS German Branch:

• Cross-border family conflicts
• Child and youth welfare services across borders
• Migration
• Intercountry Adoption 

The field of intercountry adoption is divided into the areas of general and consultative work, on the one hand, and adoption placements, on the other hand. ISS German Branch is in charge of general and consultative work, while the organisation “family international frankfurt e.V.” is in charge of international adoption placements.

Moreover, International Social Service in Berlin puts much emphasis on its general and consultative work, i.e. publishing statements, recommendations and other contributions and hosting conferences and expert discussions.
